A marble dining table with a black or white top on shiny electroplated legs in gold or black, from 1.2m to 2m, and 2.2m or 2.4m on request.
The legs are flat, shiny bars that angle in from each corner and join a low frame under the table, a clean outline that shows best on a light floor. A black top on gold legs looks dark and formal; the white top, veined in grey, keeps a small dining area bright.
The size range is wide: the 1.2m suits two to four in a compact HDB kitchen corner, and the longer tables seat a large family. The 1.6m with a white top and gold stand is in ready stock; other sizes take about 4 to 6 weeks from order confirmation, so allow for that if you are timing it with a move or renovation.
A rough guide: about 60cm of table edge per person, and about 90cm between the table and the wall so chairs can pull out.
It can. Marble is a soft, porous stone, so coffee, red wine, oil and curry can soak in if left, and acids such as lemon juice and vinegar can leave dull etch marks. A sealer slows staining but does not stop etching, so wiping spills straight away and using placemats matter more than any product. A white marble dining table shows stains more; a black top hides them but shows etch marks and water rings in the light. Marble: wipe spills straight away, especially coffee, wine, oil, lemon and vinegar. Use coasters, placemats and a trivet for hot dishes, and clean with a damp cloth and mild soap rather than acidic or abrasive cleaners. Wipe the legs with a soft dry cloth; abrasive cleaners can scratch the electroplated finish.
