Choose the table first, because its size decides how many chairs fit. Our dining tables run from compact 1m tables to 2m tables for up to eight, including round and extendable designs, with tops in sintered stone, marble or tempered glass. Sintered stone dining tables resist heat, stains and scratches and need no sealing, which suits daily family meals; marble needs a little more care, and glass wipes clean.
Our dining chairs come in velvet, PU, fabric and leather. Velvet is soft and comes in the most colours; PU and leather wipe clean, which helps with young children; fabric soaks up spills, so blot them at once. Several are in ready stock, like the Tommy and the Merlion in black or white, and many others are made to order in the colour you choose.
As a rough guide, allow about 60cm of table edge per person and about 90cm between the table and the wall so chairs can pull out. Many HDB and condo dining areas suit a 1.4m to 1.8m table with four to six chairs, or a round table of 110cm to 130cm. Leave about 25 to 30cm between the seat and the table top: our tables that list a height are 75cm or 76cm high, and the Deus Black and Kels chairs have seats 45cm from the ground. At a kitchen counter, use bar chairs instead.
