The Silver Gaux is a tufted velvet sofa with a rounded, tub-like frame: the back and arms curve into one continuous shape, with diamond button tufting on the inside of the back and right round the outside of the arms. A brushed gold band runs down the front of each arm and turns into a block foot, so the gold frames the sofa from the front rather than sitting underneath it.
Because the colour is customised, you choose the velvet to suit your room; grey, as in the photos, keeps the gold bands as the main accent. The seat sits on two wide cushions in the 3-seater and 2-seater, with no middle seam on the backrest, which gives a clean line along the wall. Every size is 90cm front to back and 71cm high, a low profile that keeps a condo or HDB living room feeling open.
Yes, with a few habits. Most sofa velvets today are polyester, which copes with humidity better than cotton velvet and does not hold water marks as easily. The two things to watch are sun and dust: strong afternoon sun through a window can fade the colour over time, and the pile picks up dust and pet hair, so a weekly vacuum with a soft brush head helps. Velvet: brush or vacuum gently in the direction of the pile, blot spills straight away, and keep it out of strong direct sun. Dust the brushed gold bands with a soft dry cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners.
