A velvet sofa on a stainless steel base, as a 233cm 3-seater, 197cm 2-seater or 142cm 1-seater armsofa, in light cream, brown, light brown or a custom colour.
The Gaux Premium is tufted all over. Diamond button tufting covers the inside of the back, the arms and the whole outside of the frame, including the back panel, so it looks finished from every side. The frame is an oval with no corners, and it sits on a low stainless steel plinth rather than legs. That makes it a good choice for a living room where the sofa floats in the middle of the space or faces the dining area with its back on show.
At 100cm front to back it is a deep seat, and the 142cm armsofa is wide enough to curl up in or share with a child. Check the depth against your room first: in a compact HDB living room, allow at least 90cm of walkway in front once the coffee table is in place.
A good velvet sofa wears well for years, but it changes with use. The pile flattens where people sit most and can look lighter or darker from different angles; this is called crushing and is normal for velvet, not a fault. Brushing the seat cushions now and then lifts the pile again. Velvet has no loose weave or loops, so it does not snag easily, and lighter shades such as light cream show marks sooner than brown. See all our velvet sofas and armchairs to compare shapes.
Soft, tufted pieces match its outline. Try the Arbi button-tufted velvet sofa bench, the round Zion sofa bench in light brown or brown, or the round Rhi sintered stone coffee table, whose curves follow the oval frame. See all coffee and side tables.
Velvet: brush or vacuum gently in the direction of the pile, blot spills straight away, and keep it out of strong direct sun. Use a narrow brush nozzle along the tufting creases, where dust settles. Wipe the stainless steel base with a soft dry cloth.
Measure your lift and doorways before you order: a piece that cannot go up in the lift is carried up the stairs at an extra charge.
