A low, legless sofa 38cm high with high density foam seat cushions, as a 205cm 3-seater, 135cm 2-seater or 90cm 1-seater armsofa, in velvet/fabric or leather fabric.
The seat is a deep square of button-tufted cushion on a plain upholstered base, with loose back cushions and a round bolster on the single seats instead of fixed arms. It sits close to the floor, so it reads more like a floor sofa or lounger than a standard couch, and suits a relaxed living room or a den where people sit cross-legged or lean back with a book.
The pieces are simple blocks, so the 1-seaters work alone as lounge chairs or line up beside a 2- or 3-seater, as in the photos. At 90cm deep, allow roughly 1.8m to 2m from the wall for the sofa, a walkway and a coffee table; check this first in a smaller HDB living room.
For lounging, yes. A low base lets you sit with your legs stretched out or folded under you, and children can climb on and off it easily. The trade-off is getting up: most standard sofas sit higher off the floor, so a 38cm-high sofa takes more effort for older family members or anyone with stiff knees. Velvet: brush or vacuum gently in the direction of the pile, blot spills straight away, and keep it out of strong direct sun.
Fabric: vacuum with a brush attachment every week or two, blot spills at once with a clean cloth rather than rubbing, and keep it out of strong direct sun to slow fading.
Leather fabric: wipe spills with a soft damp cloth, then dry. Avoid harsh cleaners and solvents, which can mark the surface.
